Montreal burns, Trudeau dances
It took Trudeau until noon Saturday to address the Montreal riot, and even then his statement didn’t even hint that the Liberals might do something
Justin Trudeau dad-dancing at a Taylor Swift concert is unsettling; that it happened as Montreal was set alight by rioters is unfortunate.
It is, however, indicative of Liberal government policy on pro-Palestinian/anti-Jewish protests that have been taking place for over a year – act as if nothing is happening.
In the last few days, protesters in Montreal have: burnt an effigy of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu; raised the Nazi salute; called for the “final solution”; and then, on Friday night, smashed windows, overturned cars, threw smoke bombs, and launched metal barriers at police.
Police used tear gas and pepper spray to disperse the masked thugs, and three people were arrested for assaulting officers.
Watching the videos of the lawlessness, there is a sense of celebration among the protesters as window after window is smashed at the Palais des Congrès, where a NATO summit was taking place.
Opposition Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre was quick to denounce the violence.
”Violent mobs riot and rampage through beautiful Montreal, typifying the chaos that is engulfing our once-peaceful country after 9 years of Trudeau’s radical, divisive agenda,” Poilievre wrote on X on Friday night. “Trudeau fiddles while Montreal burns.”
However, the prime minister was not playing Nero, he was instead at a Taylor Swift concert in Toronto where he was videoed doing that embarrassing dance that dads do when they get beyond a certain age.
Second big laugh of the day!
“What we saw on the streets of Montreal last night was appalling,” he said on X. “Acts of antisemitism, intimidation, and violence must be condemned wherever we see them. The RCMP are in communication with local police. There must be consequences, and rioters held accountable.”
Say what? There must be consequences, and rioters held accountable? WRONG! Rioting is a serious criminal offence. Rioting is not like punching someone in the nose wherein there is one victim. When a riot occurs the entire neighborhood, city even country is a victim. Therefore rioters must be prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law. Use big boy language. Taking into consideration all of what happened in Montreal yet a pitiful, laughable total of 3…. THREE… arrested for a chicken shit (by comparison) obstructing a police officer maximum (when pigs fly) of 2 yrs in jail. What did these 3 have to do to get arrested, turn themselves in and sign a confession? What a f**king joke.
Want to put an end to this shit or not? If politicians/police do then when a so-called ‘peaceful protest’ evolves into a riot (green lighted by the DOJ) police need to respond with a verbal warning to disperse immediately. Several warnings just to make sure everybody heard. Then BAM! Mass arrests. The maximum sentence for Unlawful assembly and rioting is 2 yrs in the slammer and/or a $5,000 fine. Mischief (woosie Canadian talk for looting) varies due to circumstances from 2 yrs to 10 yrs. There are a host of other offences being committed in between.
It’s long overdue to treat rioters exactly the same as were;
Canadians protesting peacefully;
Canadians proudly displaying the CANADIAN FLAG;
Canadians with bouncy castles;
Canadians singing Oh Canada very loudly;
Canadians setting up food booths to feed the homeless;
Canadians honking horns;
Canadians sitting in portable hot tubs;
Canadians BBQing;
Canadians accused of being a nuisance to Starbuck’s customers.
Wait, not done yet. Any foreigner apprehended participating in these riots whether refugees, students, temporary residents of any category. Immediate revocation of their authorization to be in this country. Remanded in custody pending trial regardless of how long. Upon completion of their sentence straight to the airport….immediate deportation. Based on ‘Fuck Around Find Out’ invoke the Notwithstanding Clause, deportation is not appealable. Gone.
NOTE: No limp wristed whining that foreigners are facing double jeopardy. They are not. The Canadian Supreme Court long ago ruled that deportation is not deemed a punishment, it is an administrative matter.
So sick of candy assed politicians who are afraid to defend because they are even more afraid to offend.
Tell us how you really feel!
