Trudeau Liberals’ indifference to NATO plays right into Russia’s hands
Massive Kremlin disinformation campaigns seek to erode western support for Ukraine
For Americans, the good news from the NATO summit in Washington, D.C. is that President Joe Biden managed to read a stirring speech from a teleprompter without too much stammering or gargling noises. While the threat of Donald Trump’s return to the White House looms darkly over the 75-year-old transatlantic alliance — Trump isn’t NATO’s biggest fan — for the moment, at least, the United States is NATO’s bedrock power. That’s all to the good.
But from here on in, the picture is going to get foggier. A lot of people are finding it hard to know who or what to believe. That’s because Moscow, Tehran and Beijing are fighting on fronts that institutions like NATO aren’t used to fighting on.

On Wednesday, Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair announced that the Canadian government will order up to 12 new conventionally powered submarines capable of operating under ice. The government has unveiled a new strategy and committed to over 8.5 billion CAD in defense spending.
It’s all just noise folks. The Trudeau government’s only strategy is always 100% based on politics and votes. Canada is getting pounded by our allies for our rainbows and unicorns attitude towards self defense. Election year next year. From now until then it’ll be pedal to the metal on the gaslighting. Liberals will be no better with these subs than it was with Harper’s military/search and rescue helicopters. Anybody remember Chretien cancelling that contract and the taxpayers having to eat the $500M penalty? Then it took another decade or longer to get delivery of the first of these desperately needed machines. Google it if you’re memory is that short when it comes to historic ingrained liberal incompetency. Canada will see these new submarines at exactly the same time as pigs fly. By the way, why the under ice capabilities? The Arctic ice is melting at an alarming rate, and will sooner rather than later gone. Or so says a Scandinavian teenager and a two time Canadian college drop out.
It’s all BS.
Bill Blair announces major investment in new submarine fleet (msn.com)
OK, anybody out there still not believing that the Liberals are going to
FUBAR this submarine acquisition as well as the previous surface ship replacement announcement? Track record that speak for itself…..from the time machine
The irony won’t be lost on military observers in Canada and around the world.
Twenty years after Prime Minister Jean Chrétien cancelled a $5-billion contract to replace Canada’s already aging fleet of Sea King helicopters with the British-Italian EH 101, Canadian military officials are kicking the tires of that same helicopter, though it goes by a different name these days.
