There was not a lot of love in the air.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe left his meeting with the prime minister earlier this week convinced that if there were a transcript of his private talks with Justin Trudeau, it might as well have been written on toilet paper.

It was in one hole and out the other, so to speak, and then flushed.

It did not make Moe a very happy premier.

“Disappointingly, after this meeting here, what I do see is that we’re going to see more of the same from this prime minister,” Moe said.

And that, of course, is a lot of nothing for the West.

It was no better earlier with Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer, the Official Opposition’s point man, when his own sit-down with Trudeau was noticeably brief — less than 30 minutes — and reportedly as frosty as the air in Ottawa as the first winter snowstorm hit the world’s second-coldest capital.
