DONALD TRUMP has heaped praise on Boris Johnson after their first bilateral meeting, calling him the “right man” for Brexit and likening the UK’s membership of the EU to an “anchor around their ankle”.
When asked what advice he could offer his British counterpart on Brexit negotiations, the US president said none was needed as he lauded Mr Johnson in front of reporters at a breakfast meeting between their teams at the G7 summit in Biarritz. The two men spoke promisingly about a post-Brexit free trade agreement after holding talks on Saturday in the French seaside town, with the Republican president said he foresaw it happening “pretty quickly”.
Mr Trump said: “He needs no advice, he’s the right man for the job. I’ve been saying that for a long time – didn’t make your predecessor very happy – but I’ve been saying it for a long time.
“He’s the right man for the job.”
Mr Johnson responded by saying: “I’m very grateful for that,” as Mr Trump offered him a little wink.

No sane G7 nation would send a 2 time college drop out to represent it at this event. Or a part time drama teacher. Or a snow board instructor. But Canada, we send our own special trifactor comprising of all three. His narcissistic personality disorder on full display as he perches on his chair with one leg or the other extended ensuring his socks on full display. So cool. So hip. So shallow. Oh Canada…….the joke is on us. To be a fly on the wall as the other leaders laugh at him behind his back as surely they must.
