AG Barr recuses himself from Jeffrey Epstein case, citing past legal work

Epstein was charged this week with sex trafficking and conspiracy during the early 2000s. Epstein pleaded not guilty on Monday in New York City federal court.

Attorney General Bill Barr said Monday he has recused himself from the high-profile case against financier and registered sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, citing his past legal work.

Barr, during a visit to South Carolina on Monday, was asked whether he planned to get involved in the Epstein case, which involves accusations the 66-year-old hedge fund manager preyed on “dozens” of underage victims—some as young as 14. He has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking.

“I’m recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm I subsequently joined for a period of time,” Barr told reporters.

Barr joined the law firm Kirkland & Ellis in 2009, which had represented Epstein during a separate case against him in 2008.

But Barr is not the only Trump administration official faced with questions over the Epstein case—Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta has faced scrutiny over his handling of that 2008 case. Acosta, who was U.S. attorney for Florida at the time, helped Epstein to secure a plea deal that resulted in an 18-month sentence—he served just 13 months. The deal was criticized as lenient because Epstein could have faced a life sentence. Acosta negotiated a deal that resulted in two state solicitation charges, but no federal charges.

Clinton on Monday released a statement acknowledging that he had taken a total of four trips on Epstein’s plane, but said he “knows nothing” about the “terrible crimes” linked to Epstein.

Billy Bob’s lips are moving again. Liar! It has been reported that documents (ie pilot logs) from Epstein’s aircraft record that “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky”, Clinton was a guest 26 or 27 times on this creeps plane. What, ‘misremember’ 4 for 26 or 27? Ya, happens to us all. But wait. That’s not only what the pilot’s logs show, they also show that on many of those same flights on which Clinton was a passenger there were also underaged girls onboard. Other than that, like all of the other ‘breaking’ or ‘blockbuster’ news exposing the ‘true’ corrupt left since Trump’s election…. yawn. As usual, as always, the Dems and their MSM allies and ordinary uninformed useful idiots and/or professional haters in America will flip this story around and beat Trump like a piñata at an illegal Mexican families Green Card party. In the meantime Judicial Watch will continue to sue the DOJ, FBI, CIA etc and force the release of shocking evidence of criminality. Law enforcement will continue to not give a shit. Lastly, Trump’s AG will continue expressing his support for “Bob” (Mueller) and Comey’s replacement at the FBI will continue being the ‘Invisible man’.

The Dems and their partners in (pre-Obama unimaginable levels) of crime, their co-conspirators, foot soldiers and propaganda media machine don’t seem to be afraid. Why is that? Could it be a yet to be revealed insurance policy that gives them such comfort? It could be as simple as pulling out all of the stops to keep this shit show going until Nov 2020, then steal the election using illegal tactics perfected (and basically unchallenged by a gutless or complicit GOP) in the midterms and then poof! If that comes about they all of this will be made to simply disappear along with in short order the Republic itself.
