Controversial Ontario MPP Randy Hillier is again thumbing his nose at provincial COVID-19 restrictions limiting the size of private gatherings.
“The lies and deceptions of covid are over. How & why so many allowed themselves to be deceived will take years to (sic) uncover, but I and many other Canadians will not accept the deception any longer. We are free and will defend our freedom,” he said in a Monday tweet.
The message displays an image of Hillier with a group of fourteen other fellow seasonal celebrants (presumably plus the photographer), possibly at Hillier’s home near Perth, Ont.
The current provincial lockdown affecting Perth restricts private gatherings to members of the same household.
“No indoor organized public events and social gatherings, except with members of the same household (the people you live with,” the health law said.
Hillier has been promoting COVID-19 lockdown defiance for some time.
Back in November, he was charged under the Reopening Ontario Act after organizing an anti-COVID-19 lockdown rally outside Queen’s Park in Toronto which exceeded the lawful outdoor gathering limit of ten people.
It was the second rally organized by Hillier to claim the pandemic restrictions and lockdowns are unlawful and are causing more harm than good.
Hillier has said he is looking forward to his day in court to challenge the constitutionality of the lockdown restrictions.
