BORIS JOHNSON’s next door neighbours have gone into hiding after being sent death threats for recording the Tory leadership contender and his girlfriend Carrie Symonds having a row at their London flat.

Tom Penn and his wife Eve Leigh have not been seen at their home in Camberwell, south London, since the left-wing couple recorded an argument between the politician and his girlfriend last week and sent it to The Guardian, sparking protests outside the property. Miss Symonds is reported to have stayed away from the flat as a result. Another neighbour told the publication the public have posted death threats through Mr Penn’s door.

They are said to be staying elsewhere in response to the threats in recent days.

Neighbour Wayne Moseley, 47, said Mr Penn and Miss Leigh were trying to keep a low profile.

He said: “People in the community have actually been sending death threats in the door after Tom.

“They’re going crazy for this guy because they don’t believe what he did was right. Whatever Tom was doing it for, it’s wrong, it wasn’t done in a neighbourly fashion.
