THE BREXIT PARTY would win a general election if it were held today according to a new YouGov poll, it has been claimed.
Despite being formed only two months ago, Nigel Farage’s party is, for the first time, leading the field according to the YouGov poll on Westminster voting intention. The findings, published on June 7 from a sample size of 1670 people, indicate that 26 percent of those polled intend to vote for the Brexit Party. Trailing behind in joint second place were Labour and the Liberal Democrats at 20 percent.
Astoundingly, the incumbent Conservative Party came in fourth place at just 18 percent.
The other newly-formed party Change UK fared rather less well than Mr Farage’s, taking in zero percent of the vote.
The news comes just a week after half of its eleven MPs quit the party, leaving a beleaguered Anna Soubry in charge.
Despite Labour’s projected win over the Conservatives, it’s not good news for Jeremy Corbyn.
