Captain Stumble struck again on Monday.
While making the most virtuous of announcements — that a Trudeau-led government would ban single-use plastics by 2021 — our PM stumbled when asked a very simple question.
“What do you and your family do to cut back on plastics?” Trudeau was asked.
Now… if you are the leader of a country and you have just announced your will to use legislative power to ensure individual Canadians, families and businesses are not allowed to use these kinds of plastics, maybe you would have a thought on how to cut back yourself.
Not Justin Trudeau.
The PM’s answer, complete with incoherent thoughts and wild but incomprehensible hand gestures, showed us all he hasn’t put a whole lot of thought into it.
Then again, Trudeau doesn’t buy his own groceries, pack his kids lunches, prepare for family road trips or any of the things regular dads do.
I get that he can get a little busy being Prime Minister, but trust me — Trudeau was cut off from the reality of everyday Canadians long before he became PM.
I’ll try to transcribe his answer here, but I’m not sure this will do it justice.
