As they pivot to their second year the Ford government needs to find a solid footing, learn to tell their own stories so voters know why they are taking the decisions they are and stop living in chaos.

It’s been a year of Ford, is it all that you hoped for?

One year ago Ontarians showed Kathleen Wynne the door and welcomed in Doug Ford.

Ford and his PC Party received more than 2.3 million votes — the most in Ontario history —and took 76 of the 124 seats in the legislature.

It was a commanding victory, but what does the premier have to show for it?

Likely more than you’ve been led to believe.

While much of the media coverage has focused on budget cuts both real and imagined and the chaos at Queen’s Park — sometimes self-inflicted by Ford — the reality is this is a government getting things done.

Most of it happening in the background as the media narrative focuses elsewhere.

The government proudly boasts that they have passed 20 bills in their first year.

The question is, have you heard of most of them?

Major changes have been made to everything from healthcare to the hydro system, from a bill reducing red tape for business to making a bill making it easier for your local city or town council to approve housing construction.
