One of the dumber controversies surrounding the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic is the rhetorical battle over whether it’s “racist” or “xenophobic” to name and refer to the disease after the place it originated. Just today, President Trump began his press conference by discussing the all-hands-on-deck fight against the “Chinese virus.” This is the correct response to a tertiary and unserious question:

As many others have noted in recent days, this practice has been going on for many years. It’s not bigotry on parade; it’s an intuitive linguistic shortcut. My general sense was that people ardently demanding that the virus’ moniker directly mention China as ostentatiously as possible were looking to pin blame on an adversary abroad, while minimizing the fault of the US government — and that those who were crying bigotry (including, embarrassingly, major US officials and the World Health Organization) were leaning on impotent wokeness as a crutch to channel frustration and outrage.
Given the Chinese government’s disgraceful and documented efforts to lie about what happened and assign bogus responsibility, blaming Beijing is the affirmatively correct and needed course of action. The truth must be defended and preserved, both for the present moment and for the historical record. And the truth is extremely damning for the Chinese Communist Party. Taiwan Says It Warned WHO In December That Wuhan Virus Was Contagious, But They Were Ignored
But WHO had reason to know better, they weren’t lacking in information.
Taiwan learned from colleagues in China at the end of December that it was being transmitted between humans.
Taiwan officially told them on Dec. 31, 2019 through the International Health Regulations framework which is The WHO’s way for sharing such data between countries
Now, somebody explain why the Member States that voted in the current Director General of the WHO haven’t voted him out. Or at the very least suspended him pending investigation? There’s a rotten stench to this entire debacle, folks. More later….

Food for thought. China has financed ports, railways, airports and naval bases, as well as servers that house most or all of the internet for Somalia, Yemen and Ethiopia. A McKinsley report in 2017 showed that the growth in Chinese investment has been uniformly high, at an average growth rate of more than 52% a year in Ethiopia. The Director General of the WHO is an Ethiopian. Ask yourselves this. Who poses the biggest threat to China? Answer, Donald J. Trump and a strong America. More later…

It feels increasingly like Americans are watching execution of a plan to take down America as a constitutional republic, and Trump as president, fed by a CIA-type psychological assessment of Trump that bet on his ‘go big’ instincts that are untethered by a deep ideological understanding and appreciation for what truly makes America exceptional and great.

China flat out lied to the world for at least 2 months. Taiwan warned the WHO of what was happening. Both are irrefutable fact. Again, so why hasn’t the Director General of the WHO been frog marched out of his office and an investigation underway to try and find out what is going on here? Did the WHO, specifically under the orders of Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, heap praise on China’s handling of the outbreak instead of issuing a warning to the world because of politics?
