WASHINGTON — The daughter of the alleged head of Mexico’s Jalisco New Generation drug cartel was arrested unexpectedly at a federal court in Washington after she arrived Wednesday to attend a bond hearing for her brother, another top cartel figure, people familiar with the matter said.
The apprehension of Jessica Johana Oseguera Cervantes came as she was apparently unaware of a Feb. 13 indictment and subsequent warrant for her arrest before being taken into custody by security officers, said the people, who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the two cases.
The indictment, unsealed Thursday, charges her with five counts of violating a U.S. ban on transacting with designated drug trafficking entities and individuals. She pleaded not guilty at a hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Harvey after her brother’s hearing Wednesday afternoon.
Her capture came less than a week after authorities announced the extradition of her brother Rubén Oseguera González — known as “El Menchito” — which U.S. and Mexican officials had been awaiting for months since his arrest by Mexico’s army in 2015 on drug-trafficking charges.

Good news. But just wait. IMO it’s going to get better, much better. Watch what POTUS Trump is going to make happen after his re-election and Mexico will be fully on board. New outer wear for cartels coming, bullseyes on the back. I’ve got a hunch that the plans are already secretly being formulated. Remember Trump’s shot across the bows just a few months ago threatening to designate the cartels as terrorist organizations and then backing off temporarily. Trump is not going to sit back and tolerate many 10’s of 1000’s of Americans to continue dying from drug overdoses every year. Trump is not Clinton. He’s not Bush I or II. Best of all (and God bless America) he sure as heck is not Obama.
